The westward mainline splits at Rich Creek. Here you see the Third Sub-Division (right track) gaining elevation to cross the New River bridge at Glen Lyn and head for Elmore, W. Va. and the coal fields beyond. The Fifth Sub-Division (left track) descends into the Glen Lyn yard and continues on to Hinton.
